The design began with the fan shape, one of the most recognizable forms of the 1920s. Here, the motif is enlarged and repeated across the dress, opening outward from the waist and framing the body in curved layers. Instead of ending the pattern at the hem, we extended the same sense of expansion into cascading rows of sequin fringe, giving the entire dress a distinctive fan-like rhythm from top to bottom.
